In Collaboration with Jersey City Writers

You are cordially invited to POETRY PROM!
Date: Friday, March 13, 2026
Time: 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Location: 157B St., 6th Floor, Jersey City, NJ
Held in collaboration with One Mic Stand with SJ (@sjbythegram) and Jersey City Writers (@jcwriters), Poetry Prom is an immersive poetic experience meant to invoke all the joy and nostalgia of Prom. Whether this is your first prom or you’re a prom hero, we invite you to attend as a guest, or take the prom stage at our open mic. We will also be celebrating the one-year anniversary of the One Mic Stand With SJ!
Our featured poets for this prom will be the incredible Gia Clark-Grillo (she/her) (@curveballgrilllo) and Cyn Grace Sylvie (they/she) (@cyngracesylvie). Complimentary prom photography will be offered by fellow poet and photographer Micayla Mirabella (they/them) (@micaylamiabellaphotography).
Audience members and performers are encouraged to come prom-ready: dress in your ideal prom attire, in whatever way that prompt speaks to you.
And whether you can be there in person or not, we would like to invite you to have the opportunity to be a part of the night’s experience. Below, add your favorite prom song. I will be composing a poem, based off of the entries, and a collective group soundtrack to memorialize the experience. Just use the QR code in the profile image to submit your song!
Special Guest & Featured Event Photographer: Micayla Mirabella
Micayla Mirabella (they/them) is a queer photographer with over a decade’s worth of photos on their hard drive. They love to photograph beautiful things and they believe people are the most beautiful subjects, but they set out to capture pretty much anything worth remembering. They are committed to inclusivity and accessibility and they celebrate all identities, all bodies, and all love. https://www.micaylamirabellaphotography.com/
